Pune: To further smoothen the traffic flow in Hinjawadi, officials of Hinjawadi Traffic Division have banned the flow of heavy vehicles from Shivaji Chowk towards Wakad Bridge. Heavy vehicles heading from Shivaji Chowk to Wakad Bridge will now have to take left from Shivaji Chowk towards Kasture Chowk and then can take a right turn to reach towards Wakad Bridge.
 
Officials said the move will help other vehicles like two-wheelers and four-wheelers move faster on the stretch. 

The Hinjawadi police have implemented  circular one-way traffic from Shivaji Chowk, Hinjawadi Phase I, Geometric Circle and back to Shivaji Chowk. Currently, a bottleneck is formed at Shivaji Chowk in the evening while employees working in the IT field return home. 

So the police hope that the ban on heavy vehicles from Shivaji Chowk to Wakad Bridge will help in reducing traffic congestion.
